The choice can be made for either single-phase or three-phase inverters, and all power capacities are available.

For emergency power, inverters with internal transfer relays are commonly used, allowing for combinations with mains power and/or a generator. Additionally, hybrid inverters are available, enabling direct connection of solar panels.
